Lack of faith?

Umm, I am pretty sure that it is the law in some areas that buildings over a certain height must have a lightning rod. I know it is where I live.

God Made all things that were made and He gave us the good sense to use lighting rods and medications for our our Health, Welfare and Safety.

Thanks for asking.

1 Corinthians 9:22 - To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

Mark 10:6 - But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

Acts 3:25 - Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Acts 15:7 - And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

1 Corinthians 1:20 - Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

Hebrews 6:13 - For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

I guess jumping off from the top of church shows a great faith?

Faith and precautions standing on a different area. Atleast that's how I believe.

If I jump off a cliff to show my "faith", is God likely to catch me before I hit bottom? That would be a severely misguided view of faith. God has given us free will, and we are responsible for our decisions of free will. If we do rash, stupid, self-destructive acts, then we suffer the consequences of those acts, and we cannot expect God to suspend the laws of nature to cover our stupidity. Not having a lightning rod on a tall building, or not having fire extinguishers inside, would be similar to jumping off a cliff, or in front of a train, intentionally and stupidly placing onesself in dangerous for no valid reason, then expecting God to perform a miracle and send a torrential rainstorm out of blue when the church catches fire. The laws of nature affect everyone, believers ans non-believers. Such rash behavior is not the will of God for anyone, and you can't expect to experience God's favor if you are behaving contrary to His will.

This is probably the silliest question I see asked over and over again- it does not show a lack of faith- God's word says that it will rain on the righteous and the unrighteous and blessings come to the righteous and the unrighteous. We live in a world that operates in an order and by laws that God Himself set in motion. I believbe that thosre that follow after Christ live under a Godly protection but we are not sheilded from every trial and tribulation their is. Knowing what it is we live in and what we are subject to , we need to walk in wisdom- not fear but wisdom.
It's like walking down the middle of a busy interstate and saying I believe God won't let me get hit, or continuing to smke while praying for God to heal your lung cancer. Walk in wisdom- do what oyu can do then walk without fear trusting God to do what is His will that you cannot.

The latter part of Ecclesiastes 9:11 says time and unforeseen occurence befall them all. Even the most faithful person needs to look both ways before crossing a street.

There was this flood and a man was on the roof of his house praying.

A man in a canoe offered him a ride, but he said no, god was coming.

A speedboat came later, but the man said no.

Finally, a helicopter came, but he still said no.

The man died. When he got to heaven, he asked god, "why didn't you answer my prayers?"

God said, "I sent a canoe, and speedboat, and a helicopter, what more did you want?"

Maybe god sent the lightning rod . . .
