If you have the time and money to care for them all..Regular vet visits, premium kibble, individual training time..there is nothing wrong with having as many as you can afford...but, as soon as they appear ungroomed, and the messes begin to stink..then its time to cut back...
When I maintained 12 adult dogs, I had to hire help..

The question would be do you have time and money to care for and clean up after them? If you do then no it's not bad to have 12 dogs.

Personally, I think it is. I mean, 12 is a little much. Some of the dogs may feel neglected because your giving the others too much attention. It may be really serious and harmful to the dogs.

Not if you have the time and energy to properly care for them and the money to buy feed and pay vet bills for them all.
I don't think I'd ever have that many for any reason tho.Hurricane Katrina should have taught most people the lesson that if you don't have the room to haul them in an emergency you should'nt have them.
My neighbors daughter was forced to evacuate her home in Texas. They could'nt fit their german shepherd in the car with their 3 boys so they unchained him and left.
I find that completely unacceptable, inexcusable and irresponsible.
They had plenty of warning and they chose to drive to her husbands parents home in Arkansas which was 300 miles away.If he were my dog my kids would have held him across their laps the whole way and not dared say a word about being uncomfortable.Or he'd have sat on mine.

The most I've had at one time is 5, but man oh man it is definitely a lot of work, except for 2 they were all different breeds, different needs, different personalities. But it was a joy having them. I think because some were older dogs it kind of balanced things out. The younger ones were excited to go for long walks and the older ones were more content to stay home and wait for my attention once we returned, while the younger ones drank and ate.

I agree with Chetco's answer but also wanted to mention that I know of a lady who has 20 dogs. Some are retired show dogs, others are being shown and are titled, others are waiting to be shown, and some are pets. Like already mentioned, if they are cared for proplerly I see no harm in having that many.

Off Course Not!!!
If you have a big house for all of them, time to spend with all of them, money to treat them when they need medical assistance.
If I could I would buy a ranch and rescue dogs in need and I would have much more tha 12 dogs.

If you have the right environment to keep the dogs in then yes, of course its okay. Just make sure you are spending enough time with all of them. You also will want to check your state laws because some states set limits to the number of pets or dogs you can have. Just make sure none of your neighbors are disturbed by your pooches.

Can you afford to take GOOD care of 12 dogs? Food, Vet care, Medications if necessary, worming/heartworm, meds? All routine care? Walking, playing, loving, grooming, washing??? Enough SANITARY places to go outside, and do their business? If so, fine. If not-then you have too many dogs.

Depends on how those 12 dogs are cared for.
No if they are properly cared for have as many dogs as you wish.
I've met many people with 1 dog that was horribly cared for.
