On a Macroscopic level all forms of energy on this planet originated in or from the sun.
On a Microscopic level most life forms use ATP (Adenosine Tri-Phosphate) as their energy source. Check the Krebs cycle for further details.

It depends on your definition of life. All life uses fuel for energy whether it be from the sun or from food. Each organism or "body" uses energy to produce energy. Life was created by the creator, God. And sorry but yes we are real and not figments of our imaginations and there is a heaven and a hell. I just hope some people do not find this out the hard way, its sad to think about.

The answers that say from the Sun are correct. People and animals get energy from chemical reactions of food they eat, but that food is just storing solar energy from the plants that produced it, or from the animals that ate the planets that produced it.

Primarily from the sun, these days. It's captured by a process called "photosynthesis." Plants use the energy to fix carbon in sugars. Bigger polysaccharides may be built from simple sugars.
