Every voter, Democrat, Republican and Independent should vote for the candidate, and not blindly pull the lever for any party. Mindlessly following the party line is why the parties each know they have 40% of the voters in the bag and only try to get the other 20% to vote for them.

Why do assume Democrats would be better than Republicans? For every GOP screw up I can think of there is a Democrat right there with him.

The time vote straight party is over. Study what the candidate stands for, if he's an incumbent look at his voting record. If they don't represent your values don't vote for them.

Don't be a sheep.

No one with any brains at all is stupid enough to vote Republican again, no one. Republicans have this country in the biggest mess in 100 years. There is ample facts to support that. In life we all are forced to take the lessor of two known evils, the Democrats are far from perfect but they are in fact our Countries only hope.
We have a $ 9 trillion debt under Republicans. The Republican war in Iraq will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion. We have 2715 dead and over 30,000 wounded. Bin Laden is in Afghanistan and the Taliban is gaining back most of the control it lost.
BTW, Republicans only have 30,000 troops in Afghanistan and we have 147,000 in Iraq. Iraq is in civil war now and talk of North and South breakup is about Oil and it's wealth. That civil war will last 4-5 years. disorder in Iraq has never been worse than now. Lawlessness is ramped.

Please tell me what will happen when the Democrats vote for a swift exit from Iraq?

a) Iran's influence would grow, and Sunnis and Kurds would find themselves in a position of conflict vs. cooperation with the Shi'ites

b) Saudi Arabia would feel even more threatened by increase Shi'ite dominance in MidEast politics, and US involvement in securing Saudi/Emirate oil fields would likely increase

c) terrorism by Hamas and Hezbollah would rise, as they view the exit from Iraq as a sign of capitulation and the lack of American will to truly route terrorism from the face of the earth

d) Al Qaeda and Taliban would continue operations to turn Afghanistan back towards radical Islamic rule, NATO would fold in its peacekeeping efforts there

e) Russia and China would see the disengagement as a sign of US ambivalence and fatigue in world affairs, and would strengthen the Eastern bloc of the UN Security Council. This would mean more nuclear proliferation, more expensive fossil fuels for the US, a slowing economy, likely recession/inflation and some severe political blowback for the Democrats, who are feeble in economic policy because they are solely focused on redistributing wealth rather than creating more of it

f) the honeymoon would last two years, because today, Howard Dean can't prop up a single candidate that can win more than 40% of the American vote. That's not good enough in '08.

g) the border enforcement would go by the wayside, introducing a doubling of illegal immigrants and a complete collapse of healthcare in the US, not to mention overcrowding, increased crime and high housing costs in major cities close to the Mexican border

Wow...I can go on, but I don't think that Democrats are the answer, at least the Republicans are shying away from disastrous Bush doctrine and sinking/swimming on their own. The Dems sound like the junior high glee club on their first rehearsal: Singing in unison, but woefully out of tune and in need of practice.

Vote Democrat IF you want more illegals draining the system we pay for, IF you want us to pull out of Iraq and forever be on the lookout for terrorists in our own backyards, ( recruitment for terrorists would really go through the roof as they would see us as weak and indecisive), IF you want more and more of your rights (won for us by very brave ancestors) taken away, IF you want to hand over your guns (sure all the criminals and terrorists will be heavily armed), IF you want to give more and more of your hard earned money to the ACLU and United Nations. I could continue but doubt any democrats are still reading this. Democrats and their liberal policies scare me. Also, how they feel anyone lazy bum that doesn't feel like working should be supported by the rest of us.We don't need BIG government.

I am registered as an independent, but sorry, I support the war. The democrats will not get my vote at all. So no, I will not join you.
I will vote for the one who reflects my views, NOT someone whom others want me to vote for. I will have to research when we know who is running so that I may make an informed decision.

Wrong. If you are thinking of voting independent, vote independent. You want to be independent, because you are tired of the same old crap from both power parties. Do not believe for one second that the Dem's have a plan to withdraw troops from Iraq. Those troops will be there for years to come, despite what either party says. We still have troop commitments in Europe, left over from WW2 !!! And if the Dem's have a plan, WHAT THEE HELL IS THE PLAN????? They haven't presented any plan to the public, outside of besmirching the President and casting ridicule upon anybody who supports any of his policies.

Vote your conscience, don't vote just to kick a party out of office.

So, you want people to vote for a political party that they oppose, just because they oppose another political party more?

It's truly tragic that this country has locked itself into a system where our own option is the lesser of two evils, because both of those evils have rigged the game to prevent anyone else from playing.

Defeat all incumbents. Think independently. Vote Libertarian.

independent voters should do research and select the best candidate that best reflect their views on each issue, not a broad sweeping support of democrats just to crush republicans
