Prisons were more crowed before religion was removed from school? I had no idea.
Actually, the real reason behind larger prison populations is due to a) larger populations of poor people, and b) a crack down on drug offenders as part of the whole Say No movement in the 70's and 80's that continues on today.

No! Prisons are overcrowded because legislatures and courts are incarcerating people for petty drug-related "crimes."
Prayer has not been removed from schools. (I assume you mean public schools.) Anyone who chooses may pray as s/he wishes in any public school because the government may not prohibit "the free exercise" of religion by its citizens. However, the public school, as a government institution, may not promote prayer because of the 1st Amendment establishment clause. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,..."

Nope. Overcrowded prisons are caused by having too many bad guys and not enough prisons. Personally, I think we should outsource our prisons to Bangladesh. It'd cost much less to have our prisoners there, and, if any escaped, they'd stick out like a sore thumb.
Oh, and, since I live in California, I believe we should outsource our executions to Texas. Those Texans know how to kill someone who needs killin'.

Certainly. If we actually used the death penalty when it is handed down instead of leaving 20 years wworth of appeals open that would be more of a deterrent. You can say it isn't but think about it this way. If you are dead, you are not out committing more crimes.Prayer ought to be left up to the students individual choice. They should be given time in the morning to pray to whatever God they follow to get them through another boring hour of history and help them deal with peer pressure if they want. Everyone would not have to join in. It could just be a quite few minutes where a Christian, Jew, Muslim, whatever, could praise the powers that be for getting them through to another day.

Not at all. My dad is a prison guard and he says that over half of the inmates pray daily in their cells. Some prisons even have special groups for prayer.
That's idiotic to think there is a correlation between the 2.

No. The logic doesn't work that way.
If you remove prayer from school - then the prisons population will increase. Its offensive to say that people who do not pray in school will end up going to jail. There has been generations of funtional adults (Including many types of religion) that have grown up to become productive parts of society despite the lack of prayer in school.

The USA which is Christian has the highest crime rate of any nation in the world. Non-Christian nations such as Japan have low crime rates. Christians are overrepresented in the prison population. Atheists are underrepresented. Check out the statistics. It is a matter of public record.
