How do Highshool daycares work? I was under the impression that the students whos children were in the daycare gave up a studdy hall to help work in the daycare center in exchange for free childcare. Does anyone go to one of these highschools who could give me first hand info? Also would you need special qualifications to work as a teacher at one of these highschools?

At a local highschool in my city.. There are qualified day care providers on a special day care on campus... during breaks and lunch period the parent are required to come into the center to feed their children.. they also must take care of any other needs (changing etc.) the child may have... Additionally, the parents get parenting instruction..I think they have to sign up and are admitted from a waiting list.. it's no charge.. but you must supply all the food and diapers your child will need..

I went to an alternative high school for the last semester I was in school. It's a school primarily for children who have been expelled from school, have a child/ren, or don't have a parent or legal guardian. In order to teach at that school you need to have an degree in teaching. There is nothing more, nothing less. It had a daycare for the students. If you went to school, it was free. The students didn't work at the day care though. I believe it was run by volunteers. Hope this helps!
