I have tried "Googling it" but I'm not getting the correct type of info that I need. I am basically looking for signs of child abuse or neglect in babies or toddlers. I'm finding sites that are geared toward signs in older children but I need some that are for children at ages that they cannot talk to tell you if anything is going on. I know there are a lot of obvious signs, but I mean things like, when a toddler is acting clingy could it sometimes point to negect that kind of thing. Also, when there are really not any bruises to go by if it is neglect, like what are some of the behavioral characteristics or psychological things they may do if neglected. So if anyone knows of any websites that could help me it would be appreciated. Or maybe someone is familar with this themselves?

Emotionally neglected infants and toddlers do not respond to their parents. They have no bond or attachment to them. Infants are often left in car seats and swings for hours on end, creating a flat spot on the back of their head. Their emotional growth is slowed and they are less likely to respond to attempts to engage them with facial expressions or sounds. "Clingyness" or "stranger anxiety" is a normal stage a toddler experiences.

Does the child appear malnourished? Are his/her clothes filthy, does it appear if she has been bathed regularly or her diaper changed timely? The first sign to a neglected infant is the above items not being taken care of. Any child abuse or neglect concern can be made to your local Child Protective Services office or 911.
