My cat was looking out the window and it was dark out. No one was around and I was sleeping. Then all of a sudden I heard my cat meow so loud, I thought someone had stepped on her. By the time I got to her, no one was outside that I saw and no one was in the house (Thank God). One question remains, why did she do that?

If she saw something outside, why did she react that way?? I have never seen her act that way towards another animal.

cats are as territorial as dogs, my cat will attack the storm door and will actually go through the window screen after a stray cat...just don't get in her way when she see's one...she'd go through you to get to it. Spring and Fall, I never get to open the windows.

Because she's... wait for it... A CAT! Cats and other animals don't have a logical thought process like most humans do. Sometimes they just do something, like meow real loud in the middle of the night, because it seems like the thing to do. It's a cat, let it be just a cat and don't worry about a meaningless action.

My cats have done that in the past the other morning I actually saw another cat in my yard I'm sure thats why yours did that. I have a coon cat that is like a guard dog.

She probably saw a cat outside, or perhaps something that she perceived to be a threat (like a creepy dude).

My cat does the occasionally. He is either watching another cat, ot he might see a fly buzzing around him. He probably saw something frightening or something he or she wanted to chase.

she probaly seen something that startled her, and was scared. you will never get the real reason unless u speak cat.
