You can't obtain peace and love for all humanity simply by wishing it. Live it and others will follow; also, I didn't think Rodney King was a sage. He was a flashpoint or nexus. Anyway, it is good to ask "why" if it gives you insights into how to achieve Peace and Love for all humanity; just don't expect it right NOW, or you will be disappointed. These are states of being and doing, not a prize to be won. There is nothing wrong with wishing for it though! Better is to work for it and live it! Or write songs about it or books, or paint pictures, or write rants on Yahoo Answers...I don't recommend the Jimi Hendrix method though. Look how he ended up!

Martin Luther was in a dream state, Stevie wonder can't even get a peek, and Hendrix was probably as high as his purple haze would take him.

I am not sure, but I tend to think part of it is a carefully nurtured since of disenfranchisement and victim mentality. Since "The Man" (whatever that is supposed to mean) is holding you down, you are not responsable for your situation, nor for your anger at that situation. Thus it is seen as perfectly normal to go loot a store for example, if you think an injsutice has been done.
