rei, sierratradingpost, and www.campmor.com are the three I use to compare prices. You never know which one is going to have a great sale on last year's model or a discontinued color. Give all three a look.
Just a thought, if you need a tent, sleeping bag, and a backpack, you might want to try finding an outdoor supply store near you. I have a friend who needed all three and went to a store called Phillip Galls and got all three as a package deal for about $200. I checked it out and it looked to be of a pretty nice quality.
I have a smorgousboard myself. A North Face tent, Kelty mummy bag, and a Mountainsmith pack. I would recommend any of the three, all been great so far.

I find 'campgear' to be the most exhaustive and knowledgeable website on camp gear. I am a semi-professional mountain climber and have always used their website to get all the gear. Highly Recommended for all complex to simple camping needs

i could no longer say the excellent website yet what i might do is form in camping out kit and look at distinctive web pages and make shure you get sturdy high quality stuff. Cabellas, Camp extra, Gander Mountain. are in easy terms some that deal in camping out kit.

Has the same stuff as really nice outdoor stores at huge discounts. I think its over stock stuff and discontinued models. Good return policy too. I've used them 3 times, and have been really happy.

You can order online or find stores in your area if you'd rather purchase it outright instead of waiting for a delivery.
