Actually, it's not that they themselves are aliens, but rather that they have aliens living inside of them and controlling their thought patterns.
But, now that you mention it, how do you know this? It's supposed to be a secret. The fact that you know this secret means you are controlled by the aliens yourself, or that you are privy to their secret.
If it's the latter, you'd better hide - they WILL get you.
