What causes the funny taste in your mouth when you have a cold?

Your taste buds or off track and more mucus is in your mouth.
So that's why everything taste funny when your sick or it just doesnt taste as right.

its actually the normal taste you would have in your mouth from food that stuck, mucus, saliva, etc. the difference is in your sinuses. like plugging your nose when you have to eat something you know is going to taste terrible
