Do you recommend any web sites, groups or organizations where I can get info?

this is a 37 year old man,
I can't take the game because he would just but a new one and probably do something violent to my sister blaming her. he plays them on the computer, and I can't throw away his computer because then I would be in trouble for theft.

Being an addictions counsellor, we see this all the time.Whether it be shopping, video games and gambling. It should be treated just as any kind of an addiction. Have you thought about doing a family intervention
Here is a website: http://www.mediafamily.org/facts/facts_gameaddiction.shtml
You can also talk to a family doctor about what is available for help in your area.

< reformed video game junky < i just had to make myself cut off my cable so that i couldn't play anymore.. 1 year sober and counting lol, but seriously, it's amazing how many people don't realize how easy and serious this type of addiction can be.. i don't even have an addictive personality and i was sucked in after a while. other countries (like japan) have many programs for this kind of thing.. here.. I'd say your best bet is an intervention! followed by counseling

There are a lot of substance abuse groups out there that can link you to an addiction center that would be able to help with his problem. As an avid gamer it's sad to see a grown-@$$ man who loses touch with reality in favor of the fantasy world. good luck...
