Being dead to self as a spiritual state assumes that everyone is dead to self and alive to service to others. So we would all get our needs met because we would all be about meeting the needs of others. It makes sense just like Marxism...in other words, not at all, because while cooperation is part of our behavior, it is so for the sake of mutual benefit. in other words it is ultimately motivated by one's desires, even if those desires are just to be a force for good. So we really can't and don't want to be free of self and the motivation it drives unless we all want to starve.

Being dead to the self means being alive in the Spirit. You cannot serve the world and God at the same time.

No. Someone who is dead to self only needs the right flicker to be someone or something. Someone who is physically dead can no longer physically contribute to the world.

Free thinking doesn't mean believe what the media, government,
liberals, etc. tell you to believe. Then bash and persecute any who dares believe what you don't.Free thinking is believing inspite of the bashing and persecution.People in the old Soviet Union,China, could explain that to you.

No---as long as there is human life---there is hope for salvation. God does not rejoice in the destruction of souls. He wants you to turn to him. He is everything good.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about? I don't. Do you mean in a Christian sense or a Buddhist sense?
