I would like to know, what it is that gives you the 'right' to tell people that they need to be saved? That is judging those who don't share the same beliefs as you. My brother in law is now a born again christian, and to me, he has changed so much.He is not the kind caring man that he once was. Now, he spends all his money buying books and videos (lining someones pockets eh?) about the likes of J.K.Rowling being a witch. He even thinks I am a witch because i have candles in my sitting room, crystal windchimes hanging throughout my house, and I read alot about chakras and energies, auras and colours.Surely God will be the one to judge us!

Sadly, there is a lot of this going on and it gives Christians a black eye and God a black eye. It is where the teachers are teaching their own ideas and not the truth of God's word, and where they are as you say, lining their pockets by persuading others to buy tapes and videos. The truth of God is forgotten and all that is left is the preachers lies and hypocrisy. And the ones born again that are taught these things become in themselves merely puppets to the will of others who then persuade them (usually by orders supposedly fro God) that they need to judge and condemn anything that is not part of their group.

I used to be part of a group like this and I know how they work. By manipulation and fear. By spiritual abuse. By control and domination. So that those caught in this trap are afraid to leave, even when they realise that what they are involved in is not of God.

The ones caught in this trap then go on to force the views on others. They beleive they are witnessing the truth of god but they are witnessing the lies of their leadership. And they segregate themselves and accuse others who do not fit with the leaderships idea of what is pure. Then the witch hunts really begin and they cull their group so that they can look 'pure' and fool their followers that they are being pious and cleansing the group for God.

It is all based on lies and hypocrisy. The only part that is usually based on truth is the part about being born again. But the ones born again have not been instructed in the truth of God so they are blind and easily manipulated. If they were properly instructed in the truth they would see the lies and have no part of them.

I am Born again. I never force myself on others, I will answer questions if others ask. I will speak for God but not by forcing him down peoples throats. I speak his wisdom according to the truth of his word so that others may have answers. I never seek to convert others. if they want what I got, they can ask and then I'll give. Otherwise, they don't want I wont give it. I certainly do not consider it a good use of my time to waste it on those who dont want to have.

You see, I know that everyone has a choice before god and that everyone is entitled to their choice. We all have free will as a god given right, and that includes the right not to have the lies of others stuffed down our throats.

I study the bible to see what God says not what people say. I belong with a small household of beleivers who, like me study and rightly divide the truth so we can give what God gave us to those who want it.

But I know that what happens is that when one part of any type does something wrong, the whole group is tarred with the same brush.

So I hope you will forgive this person, and not hold it against the rest of us born again Christains. After all, not all of us are the same. Some of us actually do respect the rights of others.

I can see that you want to wait until you are in court before preparing for your defence before God..
Who gives us the right?? Jesus in: Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go throughout the whole world and preach the gospel to all people.
Mar 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.

If the things you listed are what you do, then you are a witch. That is your choice, you may continue until God says that your time is over.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

You're right, God will be the judge of all of us. I wouldn't turn away from your brother-in-law, you are family. Neither of you should judge each other. What is wrong with buying books and videos? My husband and I read books daily. Our children are grown, what else should we fill our time with? Your brother-in-law evidently felt an emptiness and felt God's calling him to become a Christian, and now he is happy. I'm sure you want him to be happy. One can't determine that all Christians line their pockets unless you've seen this on TV. Believe me, there are false prophets and yes, 'some' of them are on television. Not all are false prophets, so one does need to be careful. If he is attending a local community church, I'm sure he will be fine. Just love him as you always have and be more open to him wanting to change.

I don't think he means to preach to you. He's probably sharing his new found love of God with you as he doesn't want you to miss what he is experiencing. I mean, he has a promise of eternal life with Jesus Christ now. And he wants you to have that too.

Why do people always think that we are so judgmental? We are just telling you the truth, and that is not to condemn you, but to safe you from what is to come. That's all. Since we have the Good News about Jesus Christ in our heart, why should we not share it with others? But I do agree that some Christians do it wrong, and actually try to force other people to become born again Christians, which is not the right way to do. All we should do is just share about our Lord Jesus Christ to other people, tell them what He has done for us and for you, and it's up to you to believe it or not. Eternal life in Heaven with God is a gift, why would you not want to accept it?

What gives me the right to tell you that you should be saved? Jesus does, that's who. So your angry with your brother in law, so tell him. But don't argue with him.
But is interesting that you say that God will be the one to judge us. Why do you say that? Maybe you know deep in your heart that what you do is wrong and that you do need to be saved after all.

I am so sorry to hear this. Not all Christians are so judgmental. God gave each of us a free will to choose to accept or reject our Savior Jesus Christ and it is your choice to make. Jesus is much more loving than the example you are seeing right now. I hope you decide to have a relationship with him someday but it is your choice. God Bless you!!

i wouldn't worry about it too much, some people go through phases, your brother in law will get back to normal when the novelty value wears off. If it don't wear off you have my deepest sympathys. And in the meen time i would just ignore him, obviously he doesn't know you and not only has no right no judge, but also doesn't have ANY basis to judge you on.

nice comment about the coals of hell, atleast it would be an adventure:)

Matthew 28:18-20
18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
