Why do some, very few I do understand, black Americans feel that reparations is the right thing? No one has been enslaved today in America. If anything the black leaders have made things worse. Should I force the English for reparations for what has happened to the Irish, no.

It is a pass issue. Yes the legacy of the past still hangs around today but you cannot fix that problem by forcing other people who had nothing to do with it to pay you. I am referring those who actually believe in the very racist idea of reparations.

Hate is hate. It is wrong no matter who it is against. Stop hating and learn to overcome the past.

They should seek reparations from the Slave Traders - The Muslims.

Islamic Jihadists had many European slaves too,

I want a cut of any reparations.

Thank you

Well sir I dont believe in reparation. I am a black woman and my grandmother is still alive from that time.

We as black people didnt come up with idea of reparation. Your government did. thinking that would help in the deterance of racism.

The true reason why the government came with this stupid issue is because the asian were given reparation when they were put into those camps when pearl harbor happen.

And since the response to that situation back then was good they felt it might work with african americans.

Now check this. We were torchered, multilated, hanged, lynched, raped and etc. There will be no amount of money that will ever change the tradgies that my ancestors has went through.

I feel that people need to see that yes these things have happen and from those situations we african american have come to a conclusion that there will always be racism.

People are not born to hate they are taught.

The day the people in general understand that there is no superior race maybe life would be better for all.

Who would pay such reparations? All US citizens or just those anglo saxons who benefitted from black labour? If such reparations were on the table you know how many whites, Indians, Mexicans, Asians and others would be claiming to have some "black in 'em" just for some extra government cheddar or even a tax break... Might end up being good for the soul bros at the bars where the ladies are concerned...

I totally agree with the greed factor. To try and figure out who and how much would be a total nightmare!! And you are so right about the stop hating and learn to overcome the past! As a first generation American, I have seen what hatred can do. That's why I am here in America!!

This has never been a feasible idea. Not everyone owned slaves
& I hope we learned from 9/11 about trying to pay to remove guilt. It never works ask any ex-wife cheated on if she felt better getting a big settlement. It was wrong to have slaves but money will not change what happened or make up for it. My family did not make their money from slaves, we were tenant farmers & no one offered us money for my realtives working 20 hour days for not enough to eat. Sometimes saying I am sorry is the best you can get.

Sometimes you just have let the past go and move forward. Reparations are wrong. It would be one thing if those who were wronged were here to receive reparations.

Although I am black, I don't believe in reparations. I don't believe people would spend the money wisely, which would defeat the entire purpose of reparations.

I would agree to reparations if 2 conditions were met.
1. They were paid to people who had actually been slaves.
2. They were paid by people who had actually held slaves.

yet another project is we offered human beings from the africans no longer stole them. their very own human beings offered them. yet another is there have been better white slaves than any black slaves. The south changed into negative and majority had to artwork for the wealthy and the negative white human beings in no way owned something or absolutely everyone. second the different races which includes Irish and Asians were far better mistreated than absolutely everyone.

I agree with the idea if it were to be made to those who were directly affected by it, or if they die in the process of making a claim, their heirs and executors. Who pays it really shouldn't be a relevant issue its a matter of restitution not retribution.

The Canadian Government has adopted a similar system where aboriginals who suffered physical or sexual abuse at the hands of Government appointed Catholic Schools can seek restitution from a Government fund. It'll kinda work like a car accident claim...you know how they will like pay you a certain amount for each inch of scarring or another amount for a broken collar bone...this will be like: x amount of dollars for physical abuse, y amount for torture or being denied food, z amount for sexual abuse.

My tax dollars will pay for it, but a little bit of tax seems to pale in comparison to being raped of your culture, religion and then to be beaten and raped on top of it.
