So, you are going to kill off the mentally ill and addicted? Just because YOU don't want to see them?

Well, not far from my office, there is a homeless shelter. I have spoken to people there because my hotels donate food to them and some of us volunteer there too.
They say that the people who are homeless in the area mostly won't stay in the shelter. They come in to get food, but will not stay overnight, except when the weather is really extreme.
They also say that many of the people are mentally ill, and that they have problems being inside, and relating to others well. Some of them have homes and families, but won't go home, won't go in the shelter, and won't take their medication. It isn't that they are "sucking" off of society or anything, they are really ill. But what can we do? We can't force them in, we can't force them to work, we can't force them to go home or take their medication...unless they do anything illegal, no one can make them do anything. It is really a bad situation.

Bad, bad person. Why dont you ask a homeless person to come and stay with you, then they wouldn't be homeless anymore. Give a little bit of that attitude to the helping of the homeless. I hope you never become Homeless, it is not fun. Think before you open your big mouth and think with your little brain. You are a DUMB ***.

We used to put them in asylums. I personally think that is the proper place for a majority of them. It at least kept them clean and fed and had people really trying to fix what was wrong. Beats just giving them welfare and letting them hurt themselves.

sweet....war on homeless takes a new twist...I saw one hitchhiking today on my way back from lunch and the bum flipped me off when I wouldn't give him a ride. We should have enough National Guard still on domestic soil to kick some major bum *ss

It would be more cost effective and less disruptive to turn the estates of the rich into parks and housing projects.
