Also playing ddr 5 days a week for an hour or 2.

I'm only 20lbs over weight.

Thanks

Unfortunately you can't lose weight from particular spots. Losing weight all over will help to reduce the stomach fat. The sit-ups can help to tone the muscles that are under the fat and you can see this when you lose weight.

The only way to lose stomach fat is overall weight loss through a healthy diet and exercise. This is especially concerning refined or process foods such as white sugar, flour etc.

Every 3,500 calories you don't eat, or every 3,500 calories you exercise will burn one pound. Given your age, you need to eat at least 1,800 calories every day, and it's best to eat them in 5-6 meals so you don't get too full or too hungry. Walking for an hour at a pace where you can talk to a friend but you still get sweaty burns about 300 calories/hr. SO, if you eat 200 calories less than you do now every day, and walk for an hour every day then you will lose your 20 pounds in 140 days- about 4 months. And the best part is if you do it this way you will have new habits that help you keep the weight off the rest of your life. If you want to lose weight a little faster, eat a little less each day, and while you are walking- jog for 1 minute and then walk for 5 minutes. You can't target fat loss on your body. Normally the place you have the most fat will be the last place you notice a change. The first fat to go is under your chin, chest, back of arms, inner thighs and back. Then the gut, hips, etc.

The sit-ups will help build your stomach muscles and will help you burn some calories but you need to do cardio to loose the fat. Try 45 minutes of activity (biking, running, walking at a good pace) 3 times a week. Try to cut out junk food and pop. I know that if you tell yourself you can't have it you will want it so treat yourself on occasion. Also try always taking stairs and walking places. It defiantly helps. I was about 20 lbs over weight a couple years ago and now I'm very happy with my weight. Oh and also keep doing the sit-ups they are very good for you.

Good Luck!

No. It will not work, since it will not burn enough calories to reduce the fat . The best solution is to adjust your diet, to extremely low carbs and high protein. Next, add some cardio, 3 sessions a week for 45 minutes per session.

I agree with Sue P. The only way to lose stomach fat is over all exercise and exercises geared towards tightening your stomach muscles, which sit ups will do.
