I was thinking of getting the basic car, with DSG and satelite radio and navigation. and later I'll add the rims later. is this a good idea

No get all you want financed at the same time if possible. And most of all do not get the base car. Fully loaded cars bring more money when sold used. Try and get them to chuck some of the items cheap. They want a sale at the end of the day. The Chrome faced rims from VW corrode like a git. Steer well clear. You could get the rims from wherever. You have a better choice if you look around. If you are looking for a new GTi consider the sexy blue.

Please use caution. The 2.0 currently has a oil pump problems and Iv seen many people start loosing oil pressure at 60 to 80 thousand miles. And the electronics give problems only good dealerships can find. Been an automotive tech. for 12 years and worked on many Volkswagen's from 1964 to current. Please talk to current owners to get the real deal about these cars. Good luck.
