I just make the Assumption that an Atheist or Evolutionist would want to have the Australopithecus studied in a natural environment.

I personally would think "would Australopithecus make it in modern times". And would offer to be an adoptive parent.

I personally am not religious but do intend on taking my own son to a Catholic mass and show him what our family in Michigan does. Not that Daddy believes but that its ok for him to explore the option.

I would want Australopithecus to explore the option. I would contend that if there was a God God would put a soul in the cloned Australopithecus.

I sincerely hope people give a heartfelt answer to this question and not blow it off as a chance to score points for "their side".

Imagine the face of Australopithecus as an explanation of a soul enters its consciousness, and how it must deal with its "humanity".

No, only those of Yeti Decent are allowed at my church. Anything else is pink in the eyes of JR "Bob" Dobbs.

1) you couldn't study an Australopithecus in a natural habitat. It doesn't exist anymore and couldn't be duplicated because other Australopithecus don't exist and specifically Australopithecus with knowledge of their time.

2) religious right wingers would never let it happen to begin with.

3) just because it looks human doesn't mean it is human. What if Australopithecus wasn't really self aware, how does it deal with its "humanity" then?

4) Your opinion of what an atheist or evolutionist would do it pretty nasty as well. Above all we are humans and as such we are individuals and ideas and ideals separate from one another. Just like another group of people, theists.

they might't even get sufficient DNA from corpses over a pair hundred years previous to get a race or ancestory estimate with out super undertaking. I would see how intelligent it actually is before trying to dress it up like it's on a human level and taking it to interact with other people. In reality it would most likely be only a tiny bit smarter than a gorilla, and would probably be too dangerous to leave a clinical setting.

an Australopithecus afarensis had the brains of a chimpanzee and about the same size and appearance.
it is a little funny to reread what you wrote and replace each "Australopithecus" with "chimpanzee"

I would keep him far away from modern religion (Well time wise Christianity would be modern to him right?) and see what he does or even if he believes in a higher entity

Maybe I'll sit him to in a huge movie theatre and play Jurassic Park for him

Well, I don't go to church. However, I would definitely show our culture and society to them. Show them local history, museums of science and art, architecture. I would try to make them feel as much at home as I possibly could in such a strange environment for them.

I would take him to all the different houses of worship I could find and say, this is what the fighting is all about. Hopefully it does not beat me up.
