Yes. Being overweight is a condition of eating more energy than you burn. Flexibility has to do with the conditioning of your muscles and to some degree, your tendons and ligaments. Increasing flexibility improves your ability to exercise, which makes it easier for you to lose weight. to lose weight;
Every 3,500 calories you don't eat, or every 3,500 calories you exercise will burn one pound. Given your age, you need to eat at least 1,800 calories every day, and it's best to eat them in 5-6 meals so you don't get too full or too hungry. Walking for an hour at a pace where you can talk to a friend but you still get sweaty burns about 300 calories/hr. SO, if you eat 200 calories less than you do now every day, and walk for an hour every day then you will lose your 20 pounds in 140 days- about 4 months. And the best part is if you do it this way you will have new habits that help you keep the weight off the rest of your life. If you want to lose weight a little faster, eat a little less each day, and while you are walking- jog for 1 minute and then walk for 5 minutes.

Absolutely yes. There are several yoga videos for people of size and yoga can be a great way to get someone with physical limitations like obesity to begin their road to long-term health. In addition to everyday "large" athletes many Olympic weightlifters in the heavyweight category have excellent flexibility, but the most flexible "large" athletes on Earth are probably Sumo wrestlers, who can do a full double split with their chest and chin on the floor.

Sure. My friend Tony is probably about 30-40 pounds overweight but he's also a black belt in the Korean martial art of Kuk Sool Won, and he's quite a bit more flexible than I am (I only hold a red belt, so he's been doing it a couple of years longer than I have). Being overweight may restrict your movement somewhat, but from what I've seen when Tony is practicing, it doesn't restrict you much (if at all).

Yo. Fatties can flex with the best of 'em. Besides rolls getting in the way, being fat has nothing to do with flexibility. I'm a bit pudgy, but very flexible.

yes, flexibility is a measure of how far you can stretch joints, tendons and muscles. the only thing that would hinder them is if their extra body fat physically got in the way.
