Not always, but most of the time this is the case.

Not chronic halitosis (bad breath). Chronic halitosis is generally a result of dental caries (tooth decay) or gastric (stomach) problems. Chronic means continuous and long term. But because tonsillitis is an inflammation or infection of the pharyngeal tonsils (we have 3 pairs of tonsils in the head, the pharyngeals are only one pair), this condition can cause the breath to be bad for as long as the condition exists.

no, but the infection that tonsilitis causes can give you bad breath. remember the infection is in your mouth and you breath out of your mouth and nose. Any bad breath would go away if this is what caused it in the beginning.

very often, because you have decaying food or debrises of any kind in the hollow parts of your tonsils, unless you manage to clean them with a waterpik...... for instance.

Oh, no it does not. Bad breathe is from germs that attach themselves to food that remains in your mouth.

If your tonsils are infected, you will notice an odor. Infection stinks...literally.
