Outlook folders are saved in a file with the ending of .pst The default location for that is under C:\Documents and Settings\(Your Profile name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

You will find it there, and just copy to a thumb drive or CD, but that folder is one of the hidden folders so you will need to make it visible.

To do so open up Windows Explorer and go to Tools > Folder Options > View (2nd Tab on top) > Under Advanced Settings in the middle there you will see a radio button that says Show hidden files and folders. Choose that and hit OK.

You will then see that folder. Good luck.

open outlook
click file
click import export
click export to file
click next
choose personal folder file (.pst)
click next
at the top highlight your name (mail box)
click next
browse to the location of the portable hard drive and save it there
that should do it
then when you are ready the import process works the same way just choose import instead of export
good luck
