Defiantely the vasectomy. He'll walk out of the clinic in less than an hour after walking in! Plus, they're sometimes reversible if he changes his mind. The VasClip even just clamps the pasage shut - doesn't even cut it!

The tubal ligation has the worst risk. It is not only very hard on a woman's body, but the healing time is significantly longer for a woman than for a man who has a vasectomy. I had a tubal six years ago. Afterwards, I had increased pms, mood swings, cramps, etc. My gyno told me that women who have tubals will experience a change in not only their menstrual cycle, but possibly their sex lives as well, i.e., lower sexual "needs". If I had known this prior to surgery, I wouldn't have done it. It is not a pleasant monthly experience.

I think the tubal ligation...my dr told me to have my husband get a vasectomy because it's less invasive. However...after this baby is born I'm going to have the ligation. I think it's a personal choice, but know that the woman has a longer recovery time. Good luck with your decision.

Vasectomy is commonly known to be easiest and least intrusive medically, in addition to being easier to "reverse" should the person change their mind. That said, my husband refuses to get one so I'm still on the pill with a tubal in my future.

They both come with risks, but I think the vasectomy is the best way to go. You may want to call your dr. and find out to make sure of the risks of both treatments. But before you guys make a decision, i'd make sure that is what you want to do. I am a single mom of 5 boys and after my 5th son, I had my tubes tied, and now I have met the love of my life and regret doing it. And now we are looking into invitrofertilization. So make sure that this is what you want to do.

Get your tubligation or vasectomy treatment in India .IVF treatment, IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of medical treatment and surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for American and Canadian patients, as some of the surgery including ivf treatment is not covered by insurance.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your treatment and surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The doctors are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star. I recently also read about a Chinese couple facilitated by forerunners healthcare were able to get their baby by IVF and a surrogate mother.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full treatment for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.I strongly recommend this company to you as they can be of great help to you. Hope this helps.

It is riskier for the woman to have her tubes tied, burnt or whatever than it is for the man to have a vasectomy.

i was considering this actually. but let me tell you that plenty of people manage to conceive with both procedures done... so I dont hold faith in it anymore.
A great alternative that keeps either of you from going under the knife is the IntraUterean Device. IUD.
heres a site for you..
