Usually RX drugs are good for awhile after expiration, but I wouldn't use anitbiotics if they were expired. Poison is poison, nothing happens to it I guess and no it doesn't become good. Some things never change.

Our wonderful government controls the expiration date of drugs. If that isn't enough info....I have a friend with a doctorate of pharmacology and he uses expired drugs without hesitation. I am a nurse and use them as well. They don't become "poison", but may lose some of the efficacy over time...but it's a long time. I have a prescription that "expired" 5 years ago and I still use it...works great, haven't died yet! For liquids.....look for crystallization/precipitate/discoloration....avoid those!

my aunt is a nurse, she said that some drugs are good for quite a long time after expiration.
