Please tell me how to keep yourself and kids occupied when a flight is delayed for a long period of time? The airports are too expensive and i find we eat loads when we are bored. My kids are 3 so we struggle to find games they can play properly.

Take a look at the below website. It may give you some ideas. Remember not to bring any kind of games that you will have to throw away because they wont let it on the plane!

You can have your kids go around and collect the PAY push carts and return them to the machine for a $.25 or $.50 refund. I did this once when I needed some money to buy food at the airport and you would be surprised how much $ they can collect...it is fun and profitable!!

Top trumps are a great time filler, for older kids. The book "Are we nearly there yet?" has some good ideas for when space is short, after all noone wants to lug huge board games around.
