My cat Willow is allowed on the couches but not on the bed. During the night she jumps onto the bed and I shoo her off about ten times. She usually doesn't start until around 3:00 am. As soon as I swat her off, she jumps right back up. I've gone from gently placing her into her own bed to giving her a firm "NO" and little spank. Nothing seems to be working. Please help!

Once, I shut the door and she began banging against it somehow.

Ok, so I gave up and let her sleep on the bed. She only gets in my face occasionally so I guess we can all live together in harmony. Thanks!

thats hard to stop, night time is fun for cats, maybe Willow is taking your reaction as play time, do you ever ignore her? sometimes that works - i bet it jars you out of sleep!

Hitting a cat never works not even the gentliest tap just makes them want to do it more. I don't know why cats do this but you can try a few things kick her out of your room or even try double sided sticky tape and place it on the bed when you are gone cause she jumps up there when your gone. She'll stop eventually. Or sleep alone she will out in the other room with your door closed.

in case you somewhat do no longer want yoyur cat napping on the mattress, I propose making use of a twig bottle with water, it definately won't like that and you gets a clean message for the time of. different than that i might propose final your door at night so the cat won't be able to get in

Close your door at night? Cat's arent as reasonable as dogs, so they can't be trained with a No and a gently spank. Good luck!

I think yu just answered your own question. Get used to it. How would you like a 25 pound cat jumping on you during the night?Mine does, and if you leave him alone, he will lay down and go to sleep.

I had the same problem with one of my cats sleeping above my head on the pillow. I put a window bed up for her on the window sill next to the bed. Now she sleeps in her bed next to our bed.

Your cat just wants to be with you. It's comforting for a cat to be around their 'chosen' person. And it's another way a cat shows affection for you.
There's no harm in Willow sleeping with you unless you have allergies.

maybe because your cat does not sleep at night at all and the cat likes to jump on you all night and claw at your skin it hurts because my grandma has a cat and it will claw you all night and it has breathing problems and maybe i do and i cant sleep al night because my face gets flushed out and i dont feel so good when i wake up and then i complain to my mom about it and she does nothing to do about any of it

She just wants to keep you company. Let her sleep on the bed - what's the problem?
