So I am lactose intolerant...yet I still eat dairy..and yes I suffer for it. I just finished a plate of mac and cheese. I haven't had this in years..now i'm anticipating the cramps, bloat, etc. Why do I do it..why do I still eat dairy? Do you guys give in to temptation and what things can I do right now that will help me not regret eating the mac and cheese?

Everyone that told you to take Lactaid is absolutely correct. You might also take yourself completely off of dairy for a period of 2 weeks. Then at the end of the 2 weeks you can try to start introducing dairy very slowly back into your system. Just like when infants start eating baby food, you introduce one food at a time for a period of one week. You might start with cheese, do not over do it, you might try eating a slice or two a day, if you have symptoms, back off and use less. Keep a diary of what foods you are trying and how they affect you. In the end you will be able to see what you can tolerate on your own and then if you are going somewhere or you are having an overwhelming craving for something that affects you adversely you can take Lactaid. We need calcium but it is hard to get it if dairy makes you miserable.

Try what I suggested, although it does not work for everyone it did for me and, you may be pleasantly surprised.

I've become lactose intolerant over the years and have found that soy is a great substitute; years ago, soy cheese, burgers, milk was disgusting! They've finally figured it out; try a couple of different brands because some companies still are terrible; I love Soy Silk milk....

Technically all mammals are meant to be lactose illiberal, yet one particular tribe of human beings developed a mutation that allowed them to provide the enzyme that enables them to digest lactose sugars after adulthood. in accordance to some study, it stumbled on that seventy 5 % of the human inhabitants is likely lactose illiberal to some degree because it examined the breath of those who drank milk and examined for particular chemical substances which will be customary if the lactose changed into completely digested. Asians with some Mongolian ancestry may be better likely to be able to digest lactose because the Mongolians were prevalent to drink horse milk with a view to acquire the diet C needed of their diets on condition that they were a nomadic human beings. yet about ninety % of Asians in Asia are lactose illiberal. i comprehend those who're Asian and drink milk wonderful. they'd or may no longer be a touch gassy, yet their levels of intolerance isn't so extreme that they could ought to poop on the on the spot after. i comprehend those who're great illiberal of it. i assume each and every human is lactose illiberal, yet some are a lot less illiberal than others.

Sydney you really should get some Lactate Ultra soft chews...they really work and if you drink plenty of water you will not get constipated or have bloating or cramps or anything...Try it...if anything you can buy them at Wal-Mart...try a few and see if they work for you, if not return them (with the receipt) for a full refund..nothing to lose.
