did you ever see a taller mushroom plant that is maroon in color and has oblong-shaped spikelike growths all the way up and down each separate shaft? it has white mold growing in many places on each shaft? this is the most UNUSUAL mushroom plant! i can't find a photo of it, nor any information. I saw it in a maple forest up in lower michigan, near kalamazoo. please give me a picture if you have one.

EXTRA details: clump of stalks was abt 6" circle; stalks all fatter, not thinner; all of each stalk fatter at bottom tapering up; all stalks having "point"ed parts coming out of whole circle of each stalk. color of this STRANGE, poisonous-LOOKING mushroom was DARK maroon; white mold-like patches at various places inside spaces between "spikes" on each stalk. At least 10 "stalks" in the bunch, each stalk having separate bulbed root. VERY DARK MAROON, never saw mushroom even remotely like this--rather ugly, interesting though.
