Well well well - we have a question here for pondering by all. The majority of people in the world are spiritually empty and are just going through the motions of being born, feeding their bodies, being educated (ABC educated that is), procreating, working, eating and dying. And like most lemmings are dead to the world. Are dead to the inner parts of themselves.
And when you can define spirituality without the dogma of religious rhetoric then you may just have a chance of being spiritually nurtured.
If you are dead to the inner core of yourself, then you might as well be dead to the world.
When you can get close to the inner parts of yourself and actually like those parts then you will be alive to the world and actually Live. Life and Living are two different things.
Just going through the motions is like being dead to yourself which is your world.

maybe somewhat but not really. I don't know your beliefs but if you don't want to be spiritually empty put some Godly activities in your life. I don't attend service on a regular basis but I don't feel empty because I am very spiritual. To answer your question--you are not dead to the world but there is a part of yourself that could be living a lot more.

If you are not saved, you are dead spiritually.
Dead to the world does not mean dead to God.
But if someone is not saved, they can have a happy life here until death, but at death they will have eternal misery.
Dead to the world means that you do not get into worldly and material things because you know that one day they will come to pass. Christians are alive in Christ.

if you are spiritually empty, you need to filler up. If in deed you are spiritually empty you fit right in with world. Man is made up of 3 parts
1 part body, 1 part mind and 1 part soul. if you are not spiritually
fullfilled, then that leaves the mind and body. and you become more
willing to do things that are wrong.

I imagine those with no spiritual awareness to speak of, compared to those who do, would be considered comparatively dead.
honestly I have trouble imagining how horrifically terrifying the world must be to those who have only their organic senses to depend on...

Perhaps, depending on what you mean by that term. If you're limiting it to a narrow religious meaning, then the answer is obviously NO!

i don't think theres an easy answer to that, but i would say yes, and i'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes - "religon is for those trying to avoid going to hell, spirituality is for those of us who have been there."

No: it's like being alive to yourself. Is your life so empty that you must seek purpose beyond simply being?
