really we are supposed to be equals in this day and age so do you believe the man should pay for the first date? why or why not. should the date cost be split or should the woman pay?

You always offer to pay. You can test the girl this way. If she doesn't put up any fight, she probably will like you to pay for things in the long run.
I always want a guy to offer to pay, but I like to split the cost of a date.

I think it's whatever you two agree on. If you offer and he accepts then so be it. Or you could split the date up, you pay for something, and he pays for something. I don't think the man has to pay for the first date...it's just been an unwritten rule for how many years, but i think someone should break it.

I f this is the first date, yes i think you should pay. It shows
character. But if you two have been dating and she asked
you to go some where than she should pay. ( or at least i do.)
Sometime when i go out and i know we are going some where
like out to eat and then the movies. I always suggest that i will
pay for the movies if he wants to pay for dinner.

Whom ever asked the person out first should pay. If you asked her out you should pay. If you want to split the bill then you need to communicate that to your date.

well i am old fashion and i think it is but on the other hand its up to both people and wht ever the situation mught be. But when i go out on a day i do expect the man to pay expecially if he asks and i've never had a problem most tell me don't worry about spending money.,

I believe that if the man asks the woman out, he should pay, and if the woman asks the man out, she should pay.

i think it depends on the woman...
i dont mind paying when my bf is broke....but then most women wud consider that the guy is miserly or "un-gentemanly".....
a few others may not like it much....they might consider it insulting......that equality thing like u mentioned...
personally,i dont like splitting the bill....
anyway...u will pay the bill at the end of your dinner rite?so try to get to know her.....engage in playful banter abt some good things like woman's lib and stuff...she may also get a good impression of u that u r thoughtful and stuff...

First dates the man pays. Sorry, those are the rules of courtship. Eventually they can share the costs, or the woman can invite him over for a home-cooked meal.
We aren't equal when it comes to courtship and romance. Men NEED to be men, and being a man means he pays for his romantic evenings.
