Interesting question. When you eat raw clams on the half shell, they are alive. I have never heard one cry or struggle as they were chewed or swallowed. So, I would conclude that they have no feelings or have learned to control them very well.

While I hope that you are talking about actual, in the sea clams, this question has made my day. I'll be smiling and trying not to laugh to rad until mid-evening.

BTW - clams are pretty simple creatures. I am sure they feel something when they are plucked from the sea and definitely when shucked, (sorry, another bout of stifled laughter...) but nothing that would be around the level of human emotion.
