I think what you are trying to say is "salpingectomy" which is the surgical removal of a Fallopian tube, so NO.... it's definitely not contagious and other than the normal risks that go along with surgery, it is not life-threatening.

a salpingo-oopherectomy is the removal of the fallopian tube(s )and ovary (ovaries), not the uterus. The problem is: when you remove the fallopian tubes/ovaries completely, you then need to remove the uterus (a hysterectomy) because it will just atrophy (shrivel up) from lack of hormones. So generally, if you've had a bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy you will. also have had a hysterectomy, It is not contagious, but it can be life threatening.

It is the removal of the ovaries and the uterus, the loss of which could not be classified as life-threatening

It is a surgical procedure where the ovary and Fallopian tube are removed. It can be unilateral or bilateral. Salpingo-oophorectomy.

I really doubt it, since it is a Hysterectomy. They surgically remove the uterus and ovaries!
