What is with you Christians!? Even though the evidence points that there's no such thing as a god..
-- You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
-- You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
-- Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!
-- You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.
-- You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
-- You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."
-- While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity
-- You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.
-- You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

Deuteronomy 20:10-14
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.
Rape, muder AND slavery! Wonderful..

What about this? This one really disturbs me:
--
Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB
If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.
The Rape victim is insignificant! The man's property has been ruined for her being raped! She is stoned to death! Lovely..

This "question" (!?!) has been "asked" dozens of times here already. The "question" contains many outright lies and gross distortions about the bible and true Christianity. Here are a few Scriptural thoughts to consider:
(Romans 16:17) Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.
(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
(Philippians 2:14-15) In among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world
(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

I do not feel that you have proved any points here other than you are really angry at Christians. And just so you know it is not wise to assume that every Christian does not agree with science.
I am a proud Christian and at the same time understand that in this world science and religion coexist.
Of course the Bible contradicts itself; There were many people that wrote the Bible and the versions that are available to us today are not complete. People have been taking out things here and there for decades.
I believe that your percentage rate on answered prayers should be checked again because you are way off.
And, I laugh at no one's beliefs whether they agree with me or not. Why is it my place to jugde someone's salvation or religion. I feel bad for you that you have not had enough Christian exposure, otherwise you would not say such things.
You mentioned an idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in tongues.......There is a great ignorance coming from a person who will sit at a computer and judge something because he simply does not understand.
So, now I want you to know that you did not upset me or anger me in any way. (I am sure that is what you were trying to do, get some "Christians" in an uproar.) Instead you have made me realize that you are my project for the week and I will be praying for you. Good luck in your life and don't forget that one day you will meet the God that you have denied for so long.

how is it that science proves there is no God? You can debate semantics about all the other points. Clearly, you don't believe. So, WHY DO YOU CARE? What's with you!? I swear, This forum is nothing but atheists with a bone to pick.
Science can't disprove God because
1. He's all-powerfull.
2. He's all-knowing.
3. He's intelligent and self-willed.
Please show me any set of laboratory controls that could Isolate the all-powerful and all-knowing. I won't hold my breath. Maybe you could ask god nicely not to interfere with control group A, and to do whatever he wants to control group B. Science CANNOT prove or disprove the existence of God. Anyone who believes otherwise on either point doesn't understand science.
You found all of that because you were looking for contradictions. Well, even a battleship would sink if you poked enough pin-holes into it.

Of course you will believe the bible contains contradictions.......you are so intent on finding fault where there is none that you stoop to mis-quoting and taking things out of context.
Even the devil can quote the bible and did, to Jesus.
He lost.
Everyone here knows when they read what comes before and after your pithy little quotes that it all makes perfect sense when understood in the proper context.
We are Christians because we have a personal relationship with God and Jesus.
It's not our fault that you and others are so filled with hate that you can't feel God's love for yourself.
You are so intent on hating that you will never see what is right in front of your eyes and so you discredit it before you have even looked at it.
But we loving Christians will pray for you anyway because we know that, sinner though you are, you are worth God's love anyway.
It's such a pity that you refuse to believe you are worth that love too.
Such a pity.

Let's see. First you judge Christians for believing in a God who you don't understand and don't want to. Then you judge God who wants to reason with you concerning your misapprehensions. I don't know where to begin. SIN is the source of conflicts, even the disagreements in your own mind concerning the nature of God.
To make this as short as possible, I will quote what a prophet said to a shocked assembly of Israelites:
If the LORD Almighty had not spared a few of us, we would have been wiped out as completely as Sodom and Gomorrah.
Listen to the LORD, you leaders of Israel! Listen to the law of our God, people of Israel. You act just like the rulers and people of Sodom and Gomorrah.
"I am sick of your sacrifices," says the LORD. "Don't bring me any more burnt offerings! I don't want the fat from your rams or other animals. I don't want to see the blood from your offerings of bulls and rams and goats. Why do you keep parading through my courts with your worthless sacrifices?
The incense you bring me is a stench in my nostrils! Your celebrations of the new moon and the Sabbath day, and your special days for fasting--even your most pious meetings--are all sinful and false. I want nothing more to do with them.
I hate all your festivals and sacrifices. I cannot stand the sight of them!
From now on, when you lift up your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen. For your hands are covered with the blood of your innocent victims. Wash yourselves and be clean! Let me no longer see your evil deeds. Give up your wicked ways.
Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the orphan. Fight for the rights of widows.
"Come now, let us argue this out," says the LORD. "No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool.

Just because you can't understand the Grace and Power of the Holy Father, doesn't mean it's not there. Just because you cannot comprehend the magnitude of an omnipotent and omnipresent God doesn't make it untrue. You don't have the faith that it takes, what you cannot see or even sense you fail to understand. Why do you believe your failures make us the ignorant ones?

It's not just the Christians, my friend. It's all book religions. They all serve hate, madness, chauvinism, and extreme prejudice of the "other." Unfortunately, we have become a global community and all of this is tearing us apart.
Quote the bible all you want. They will never change. Why? As my father used to say about pathologically closed minded people, "Don't confuse me with the facts. My mind is made up."

All your arguments are good, but no amount of good arguments are going to change the minds of the sheep. Religion is a drug. I used to be religious. It makes you feel good when you're united with people in church or when you are praying through hard times. They take these good feelings as evidence that there is a God and that he talks to them. Everyone in ANY religion gets these same feelings though, so they are all going on the same evidence. It's been shown that there is a spot in our brains that is stimulated when we pray and that gives us good feelings. I think that religion is on the way out, but that it will take a few decades for the religious to be in the minority.
