seem to understand that science doesn't claim to have all the answers? Are they afraid of not having all the answers? Are they so small-minded they aren't able to grasp the notion that the universe and everything in it being created was far more complex than an invisible person in the sky with super powers using his magic to give himself a way to stroke his ego?

fireangel,
I'm sorry, but god is fake. There's no evidence whatsoever to make me consider the notion of any god as more than wishful thinking.

Olivia,
Science doesn't claim to know how the big bang began, nor even if there was a big bang. Nor do we claim to know where the first cell came from. Nor countless other things.
Evolution on the other hand IS A FACT.

See the best thing about science - and scientists for that matter - is that if we are wrong;
1) there is proof that we are wrong
2) we smile and say Great! Now what else can I study?!
_-_we don't care if we are wrong * being wrong just makes more questions open up_-_
Many Christians can't deal with being told that they are wrong - hence the bible being true to EVERY LAST WORD.
Blind leading the blind
Good question!

The Christians I know understand very well that science doesn't have all the answers and doesn't claim to. No one has all the answers. In fact, the deeper you search into science the more and more it leads one to believe in intelligent design. The fact that our planet is in just exactly the right place in the universe and our solar system to support our fragile existence is amazing!
Furthermore, most Christians know that this world is very uncertain. The Bible is a guide to how to live your life in the best way possible. Many times it doesn't give a definite answer, but the more you read and re-read, the more you understand. Far from static.
Belief in an invisible person in the sky is like air and brains! I can't see any of them but I have trust and faith that they exist!
"Evolutionary theory is still, as it was in Darwin's time, a highly speculative hypothesis entirely without direct factual support and very far from that self-evident axiom some of its more aggressive advocates would have us believe." Michael Denton- molecular biologist.
Read Lee Strobel's "The Case for Faith." He was a journalist and athiest that set out to disprove the Bible and turned Christian instead. It covers some of the conflicts between science and religion.

Toronto,
Ahah! Ahhhhsooooo, there is something to what you are saying. Science indeed does NOT have all the answers! What's more, they only claim what they claim, and I can say that THAT part of the scientific community deserves repect and what they find listened to with great admiration and attention to what exactly it is that they are saying.
UNFORTUNATELY, even buff and his mother comes on here and tells us about facts that science hasn't caught up to. Suddenly, EVERY SINGLE DAY, the theorys have become FACT! And I mu8st be slow witted, and stupid, and amazingly dense, because not only does evolution, for instance; explain away God, but it's FACT! And anyone not believing in that fact is thinking out from the Dark Ages, stupid and freakishly idiotic.
So I know what you are saying, tell that to the rest of the Religion of Evolution that they haven't proven it yet. And I want you to know, we are on common ground.
And as for the scientific Atheists; Do you see them as lazy, irrational poor scholars with no evidence to their faith that there is no God? Rather, would it not be more honest of them to affprd themselves to a uncommitted stance on the issue. How unscientific can you be to take a claim made by some since ancient history, and discount it as the prophecied events unfold to this day?
EDIT: Oh another one. Heh.

Such faith you have, Evolution is a good theory, the best we have at present but not a fact. That some creatures have evolved maybe a fact but that is not sufficient to call evolution as a whole a fact. As for your certainty that there is no God without proof is incredible. Where is your proof that thought exists? Yet presumably you believe in that. Where is your proof that proof exists. So many things are assumed to get science of the ground. That is, by the way, not an anti-science argument, only that you go to far in your assertion in the non-existence of God

probably for the same reasons atheists dont seem to understand that they are in rebellion against God who does have all the answers. are they so small minded they aren't able to grasp the notion that the universe and everything in it is created by Jesus?, who died for us. is that stroking His ego, or demonstrating His Love for us?

This small minded Christian knows the secret truths behind science and it is very shocking and I understand the power behind God's work. Just because you don't know don't try to make everyone else seem like they don't know. The power of knowledge is not deeming the ignorant into the belief he or she is smart.

Why would an awesome magnificent God who owns the universe and everyone in it, who's majesty, and who's love is so astounding, that He sacrificed His only Son's life and then, raised Him from the dead, for humanity's salvation, even slightly need his ego stroked?
And Rebecca, you say that you are a Christian. If so, a Christian believes everything that God says in His Word. Please read what I have written below and reconsider.

That just not true. Science DOES claim to have all the answers. That iis why evolution is taught in school but you can't even say a prayer or refer to God in any way. I for one refuse to believe that humanity and all around it is just an obscure accident.

They have the bible, which is absolute and static. It won't change. God said this is how it is and they believe that, 100%. They cannot fathom living in something so unsure as a world where all the answers aren't spelled out for them by god.
Thank goodness there are still a few thinkers out here so we don't all die in this country of ignorance.
