If you expect to pick up a history book and find the words of one John Q. Smith "I am the missing link - my parents were mere animal yet I alone possess the power of speech and opposable thumbs - my children will rule the world." , then dream on baby. But your question is written in an ignorant fashion and even if presented with irrefutable proof you are of the type to cover your virgin ears and trill la la la la I can't hear you. If you doubt evolution fine that is your right as is mine to doubt that the bible is the word of god by the hand of god. HOWEVER I tend to believe that god (as I believe in some higher powers) in it's infinite wisdom gave my mind the ability to grasp multilevel logic and that this god dismissed you from the brain pool! There is still time to get in line buddy!
Gradually over time certain creatures in certain areas had to adapt to changing environments and food sources whether that meant thicker fur or bigger teeth or the ability to use tools. This was a GRADUAL process. No one ever said that humans are direct descendants of apes only that it is possible we share a common ancestor (DNA is evidence). Don't get your back all up now cuz I guarantee you aren't going to have to fear giving birth to a chimp (depending on the neanderthal you end up procreating with). Yup about as crazy as believing without a doubt that I am descended from a spare rib.

Some of the answers have already given you the answer. Others seem to be asking science to give them the driver's license and address of the common ancestor. For this second group there is really no hope. If we I dug up 100-fold more of them, and great progress IS being made, they'd merely ask, "Where's the rest?"
Voluntary blindness is incurable.

Stop doing this please...nobody will change their minds
Almost everybody will mention lucy as a proof, big thing....were are the rest of them?? there are thousands of common ancestors... Lucy (or any other ape not known before) is not a concistent proof, so we end up in the same place we started

whats up--have faith it or no longer, that is not with the aid of fact it unravels my faith. i've got not got faith my ancestors have been apes--yet while they have been, my faith relies on Jesus Christ, and it concerns no longer honey. dirt isn't a foul element to be made out of! Jesus used dirt and spit to heal blindness. 2 doubtless base and finthy factors blended mutually to heal! Apes and human beings are very comparable-ninety 8% the comparable! although that's the two% that make each and all of the variation. quite, what's incorrect with that? by ability of how--evolutionists have vast imaginations. do you be attentive to they as quickly as built a "prehistoric" creature from a jawbone, and later found out it belonged to an previous pig?

Scientists have found plenty of evidence of ancient primates that walked upright (austropithicus is the earliest known example, I believe). Currently, paleobiology is still a growing, evolving science--no one claims to know it all (unlike religion). The evidence found in support of evolution is constantly growing and adjusting, because that's what a dynamic system does. When nothing changes for 2000 years, you get a closed (minded), stagnant system, which is what has happened to modern religion.

Even if not for Lucy, science is continuing to look for the missing link between the species. Just because we don't know it now doesn't mean we won't know it in the future.
Unlike the bible, which is static and will never change, science is constantly growing, changing, learning, exploring. I'm so tired of seeing Christians using the "missing link" and "it's just a theory" as excuses to discount science.
Centuries ago, we used leeches to remove 'bad spirits' from our bodies when we were sick. We now know that is not the right way to cure anything because science has discovered the right way to treat things. Science learns... religion doesn't.

Good question - they are still checking this one out - seems we came "out of Africa" and spread like crazy - north - east - west etc. Not sure if they have a name for that first critter that evolved into people - the first ones were hardly people and probably not apes either.
