I don't agree with the opera, because it is awful, but should all nations let the Mulsims control what they do out of fear?

Yeah, Muslims shouldn't control the entertainment media. Belief and trust should not be based on fear.

Absolutely not.
The people who are offended by the staging can show their lack of support by refusing to buy tickets to the opera.
Actually, though I know that Muslim extremists are the minority, I'm quite tired of the extremists saying whatever they like about Christians, Jews, gays, women, etc. - their right to free speech is never curtailed. But we have to censor ourselves so that they are not offended - or can even pretend to be offended.

That's horrible. That's blatanly giving in to the terrorists, to censor yourself and others out of fear.
And I hope the Christians think of this when they think of Madonna (the singer) on her mirror-ball crucifix, or the Book of Daniel, or God, the Devil, and Bob, being taken off TV because of their efforts.

Didn't the Christians end the display of the "Piss Christ" sculpture? Didn't Korean Christians prevent the screening of the "Davinci Code"? Didn't the Vatican try to prevent contemporary publication of the works of Galileo?

You mean, should we all succumb to the threat of terrorism? Thats all it really is...terrorizing us into submission.
I say hell no. we should hold the opera, publish caricatures of Mohammed, and make them understand that this is the way of the world....everyone has differing beleifs, and theirs are no more true, nor do they deserve any more speccial treatment than the next.
Hell, if we just outlawed religion completely, we wouldnt have this problem....
