I don't think this is the reason the gov turns a blind eye on this activity, but illegals also have soc sec taken from their checks and can't collect. These moneys that they pay into tax and particularly soc sec offset to some degree what they cost the govt in such things as education and health care. The govt does turn a blind eye to employers hiring illegals though. At least this govt does. I read that in Clintons admin there were like 2000 cases filed against employers for hiring illegals and that in Bushs' there have been like 35. Republicans are for big business and big business wants the illegals so they can get cheap labor. They not only get labor from the illegals for min wage or less, they also keep the minimum wage low because they can find people willing to work for this pitiful wage. Largely due to illegals the minimum wage has come no where near close to keeping up with the cost of living, and that is how capitalists like it. It is not that illegals are willing to do jobs that Americans are not, it is that Americans are not willing to do this work for the wage that they pay.

No that doesn't affect government policy at all.
Most illegals do not get paid under the table, companies need to declare their expenses or they would be taxed twice on those monies.
People that don't have Social Security numbers get a numbered assigned to them by the IRS so that they can pay taxes, in fact when time comes for them to regularize their situation THEY MUST PROVE that they PAID THEIR TAXES while in the US regardless of their legal situation. If they don't or can't prove they in fact paid their taxes, their application likely gets denied.
People really should read a little before they open their mouth.... the ignorance is unreal. lol

No, corporate lobbies have an interest in illegal aliens, because they can be pushed around and constitute cheap labor. Cheap labor increases competition and causes the little man or woman to struggle for survival, i.e. can't think too much about what congress is doing when you have to rush to your third job at 6p.m. So, ultimately, yes, just not because of the income tax withheld.

Perhaps, but they still shouldn't. Let's say withholding is $2000 a year for an immigrant. That means they are pulling down at least $8/hr, so I'm over-estimating here. It takes 3-5 immigrants to put one immigrant child through school for a year. It takes 3-4 immigrants to pay for one immigrant child born in the US. We haven't counted the free health care for illness and injury, including work injuries.
Los Angeles has closed many Emergency rooms because they can't handle the increased traffic. Schools are being crushed by increased population of non-English speaking kids, many of whom have never been to school, even if they are older than 10 years.
Illegal immigration definitely takes more than it gives.

They are either paid 'off the books' with no taxes dedeucted, or use a false/stolen SS#. If the use a false SS# to get a job, what makes you think they don't use it to file for a refund? In sort, if they are having taxes taken out of their check, the are probably getting a refund.

Illegal aliens almost never have tax taken from their pay. 90%+ work "off the books", and get paid in cash. There is no tax reported to the IRS by their employers.
I pay 1/3 of my check to cover taxes. That's why illegals work for half the pay.
Shame on anyone who employes an illegal alien. The employers should be punished as well.

As far as I know illegal immigrants don't have SS#s so they don't pay tax. Their salaries are so low though that I don't think they would have to pay income tax. So your question is a very good one, as I am sure that there is some degree of blind eye from above in this issue.

actually no, because the government tells them no then sends them a check, though I am curious as to who is pocketing the social security because with all that income that can't be returned social security should not be in straits
