in most cases you need to just ask mom and dad at the same time then you don't have to worrier about them passing the buck and your answer will come easyer and faster. good luck.

This is what happens when a parent doesnt know the answer or doesn't want to be the one to answer. Get them both together and ask...that way there can be no passing the buck.

When that used to happen to me, it would be because the other parent wasn't sure if the other would care or not. It usually means they don't care...When your mom/dad tells you to go to the other, just do it. and it the person who go to says the same thing, say "well mom/dad told me to ask you."
that should end the situation. Alot of the time the parent doesn't know you already asked the other parent.

Well, kids ask a lot of questions and sometimes parents just don't want to think about it, or they may just be distracted. If it's permission to do something, they are basically saying they're willing to go along with whatever the other parent decides. If it's just basic answers to questions the kid is seeking, well.... try yahoo answers. heh!

neither one wants to be responsible for saying yes lol and they hope the other one will step up and do it. Catch both of them together where you can catch your breath instead of playing parent tag.

Then your parents need to sit down and talk together about what ever YOU want so they can agree on their answer to you!

i think it is because if one of them makes the decision and the other one disagrees they dont want to be blamed. instead they should really decide between themselves and then hey presto no blaming because its a joint decision. if they constantly blab sayin ask your mam and ask your dad just make the decision yourself and if they try and punish you for it, it is their own fault that you did what you wanted.
