Men and women might be equals someday, but not today. In the society we live the man is still the one who rakes it in--I mean a woman can hold the same position as a man, but will not be paid the same. It will be a long time before a woman could become President and even longer before one is voted into office. The Natives had it right-- They were a community that had every-ones input into all the decision makings and the Clan Mother had the most power in a tribe--Even in this religion there is some unequal-isms in the way women are treated to men- Women have to stay away from all activities when they are on their moon (cycle), men are never shun away.

Well, if any man thinks he's better than me, he thinks it only and sure doesn't say it. I think we have equal, complementary attributes. It's not a question of who is better at all things but a question of who is better suited for X and who is better suited for Y and it boils down to the two individuals being pitted against one another. I've seen a woman win a logging championship and I've seen men be the better parent. A huge amount of households have the women running the finances WHILE also bringing in an income. I do not know if men consider women their equal. I cannot speak for all men. Not even a man can speak for all men. I only know that we coexist.

In most foreign cultures, the man is considered dominant, and women have no rights.
In the USA, I believe woman are treated and accepted as equals by the majority of men.

Men were never the "dominant" species. Yes, men are capable of a lot of things, but women can also do most things men think we cannot do. We can work in construction( office and field) We can work coorporate, and fight just as good as them. But we hold something over them that they could never do even if they were able to. Child birth. I would like to see a man spend 20+ hours in labor withour meds and still walk the next day.

this is not some feminist s### ,but men and women are not equal and can not be because women are also seeking dominance over males but men do this as well this battle for power has gone on since the beginning of time.since Adam and eve
as for now in society i think that women dominate alot of things,i think that when you try and force equality every thing gets a bit mess

Well some men may have learnt to accept women as equal, but not many. Personally I think that women are the stronger sex, they do not have to be dominant to be strong.

Equal?? Are apples and oranges equal? No. Women have their strenghts and weaknesses just as men do. Those strengths and weaknesses help us to compliment each others needs and wants. Men are and have been the 'dominant' ones for a reason and men will continue to be so. However, this has nothing to do with men being 'better' than women and such thinking is absurd. Women bring strengths to the table that men simply don't have (and we need) - it is "real women" that help to shape, make and support "real" men.

Man can never be the 'dominant' species until he learns to make, grow, nurture and then give birth to a child all by himself...women need men to make a baby but can do the rest all by themselves...i think that makes them the more dominant force...without women there would be no more men ;0)

u know what's funny? men and women are dominant in Different areas (naturally, in my opinion). so, naturally, men are the Breadwinner, the Provider, the Decision Maker, Head of the Household. women are the Care Taker, the Nurturer, the Supporter, the Helper.

now, first of all, before we go Any further: are these roles equal to each other??? i say YES:

therefore, although u can see that men are "dominant" in the sense that he is head of the household, a women is just as necessary to help support and take care of his house. that is why a man needs to be Responsible, Respectable, Trust Worthy, so that a woman can "obey" him. in turn, a woman must be Responsible, Respectable, Trusth Worthy, so that a man can "respect" her.

and of course in this day and age, many of the roles are switched; some men are caretakers, some women are the breadwinner. but the whole POINT is that each role is equal and important in itself; they work TOGETHER to join as a unit, one without the other turns into dysfunctionality, which is what most relationships unfortunately are in this day and age. =T

I think that men are still dominant, but women are definitely coming up in the world. Let's become equal and not have one dominating factor.
