Black hair is very fragile. You can't make it grow faster, but you can help it stop breaking so that it looks like it's growing faster.

1. Remove heat as much as possible. Only use heat to touch up a style, not create one.

2. Too much brushing, etc, can cause breakage if your hair is unhealthy, so try to avoid brushing if it isn't necessary.

3. Black hair requires a lot of moisture and oil - I would suggest checking out Aveda products, but they're pretty spendy. Pantene has a shampoo & conditioner for black hair that I've been using and love. I also use a hair sheen to add light oil that helps prevent breakage.

4. Get regular trims and go for a deep condition once a month or every other month.

Good Luck.

GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourishair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results

Actually too much brushing is not good for Black Hair. Keep your ends trimmed, I get mine trimmed at least once a month. Try not to use heavy hair grease. Condition, condition, condition. Also, prenatal vitamins...even if you're not pregnant, they make your hair and nails grow. Tie your hair up with a silk, not cotton scarf. That's all I can think of right now. Oh yeah, avoid too much heat.

Make sure you are using a good conditioner. Brush your hair every night. And Once a month use a hot oil treatment. Also keep your ends trimmed, if you have split ends your hair will never really grow.

Vitiman E bro! Mix the Vit. E in with your normal hair grease (or whatever you use - personally I use Magic Hair Grease - Green). It's going to be thick cause it's fish oil mixing with hair grease, so warm up the hair grease in the microwave for 30 seconds or so. Then apply as normal. I have a foot of hair from this in 2 years. My wife is telling me to cut it, but it's so 'Snoop Dogg' that I just can't bear to see it come off.

Eat a lot of fresh healthy (uncooked and preferrably organic) green vegetables! That's the best way. Of course, if you like milk, drinking lots of milk makes your hair and nails grow faster, as does eating gelatin, but I'm vegetarian, so I go for the greens!

By reducing the use of chemicals, weaves, glues, gels, keeping your ends clipped, keep it conditioned, and by messaging your scalp at leats twice a week with a great hair oil of your choice.
