I'm planning to go skiiing in Europe this winter and the website of this town looked good. Is St.Moritz be a good place for skiing and do people generally speak proper English ? I don't want to rely on my poor German or French knowledges.

Hi there,

yep St Moritz is a great place to ski in Switzerland, it has nice runs and the town is gorgeous. But as the others already corretly mentioned, is it also one of the most expensive ski resorts in Switzerland.
If you can afford it, I would surely recommend to go there, because it is fun to see all these rich people party there.
Living in Switzerland, do I normally prefer to go to other places for skiing on the weekend:
1. Davos/Klosters - is very large and you have a variety of hills to choose from
2. Wengen (Bernese Mountains) - big enough for me, very nice town and a fantastic view of the most famous mountains includign the Eiger North Face
3. Zermatt (Wallis) - also very nice and it is stunning to ski below the Matterhorn

English is normally not a problem in any of these ski resorts as there are visitors from all over the world.

I agree with Chello, it doesn't strike me as much of a skiing place as a rich-person's playground.

Prince Charles skis in Klosters, not too far from St. Moritz, you could give that a shot.

My husband who's the real Alpine one, would say les Portes de Soleil in Valais (and France)--but their English isn't so great.

Its the most expensive place to be in Swiss ( i live here ), snob but beautiful,
if the ski is the interrest, better you go to Valis, Verbier or Crans montana, bigger area, and beautiful too for sure

i do no longer know any Heather individually yet i've got no longer never heard all of us say something undesirable approximately any Heather the two. i think of it rather is merely your luck to have a merciless sister named Heather. i ask your self people of which names are the nicest, if there is rather a connection between personalities and names.
