Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.
What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. (forgot that one, thanks Spooky)
And I would like anyone who felt the need to speak to do so. After all, the funeral/ritual is for them, not me.
Blessings )O(

I would like some Hindu music played.
I am not sure what music is appropriate for a Hindu funeral. But some of my favorite songs are Bhaja Govindam and Bhavamu Lona.
Bhaja Govindam is a song about an old man who was nearing the end of his life, and taking time to study Sanskrit grammar. A famous sage approached him and asked why he was wasting his precious little time. He said, he wanted to learn the grammar so he could study the Scriptures. The sage replied, "There's no time! Just worship God, you fool!" I like this because it points out the relationship between knowledge and devotion. Knowledge is useless if it does not lead to devotion. This man may have had time to gain some knowledge, but he was clearly going to die before it led to its goal, devotion. So the sage told him to just forget that and worship. Just be devoted.
I spend my life studying, and I'm well-known by those who know me for the amount of study I do. I hope that at the end of my life, I will have put that knowledge to good use, and people will be able to see that the knowledge led to devotion.
My other favorite, Bhavamu Lona says, "Chant Hari, Hari, Hari, Hari, all the time, Oh my mind!" Hari = God.
I wish to be cremated, in the tradition of Hinduism, and because I believe there is little point in preserving the dead body. It is the soul which lasts.
I would just want my friends to speak. No one famous (unless my friends become famous). ;-)

I would prefer a Nordic Funeral, being put out to sea in a boat that was burnt to cremate the body.
songs played?
Under a Volet Moon by blackmores night.
"Raise your hats, and your glasses too. We will dance the whole night through. We are going back to a time we knew Under Violet Moon"
Cotouse, By Blackmores Night.
"If i share this with you
Never speak a word
They would never understand
If they ever heard"
"Gemeni, Caprecorn, riseing in the east,
dancing through the witchwood we begin to sing"
"Health to the company" (irish folksong)
"here's a HEALTH to the company and one to your lass.
let us drink and be merry all out of one glass.
Let us drink and be marry all grief to refrain.
for this company may never all meet here again."
Book of Days, by Enya
(lyrics elude me right now.)
Fly Like an Eagle, and The River.
(Lakota sacred songs, i am not at liberty to print lyrics because i do not have the right to teach them)
I would my funeral not to be a mourning of my death but a celebration of my life. I would hope that there be no crying or heart wrenching eulogies, just a 3 day event of games, and merry making, drinking and celebration.

Aww, Corey, this is an easy one.
Songs.....only two.
Mr. Bojangles
written by Jerry Jeff Walker
Performed by Sammy Davis Jr.
I knew a man Bojangles and he danced for you
In worn out shoes;
With silver hair, a ragged shirt, and baggy pants,
The old soft shoe.
He jumped so high, he jumped so high,
Then he'd lightly touch down
Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles,
Dance!
I met him in a cell in New Orleans, I was
Down and out.
He looked to me to be the eyes of age
As he spoke right out
He talked of life, he talked of life,
He laugh-slapped his leg a step.
He said the name, Bojangles, and he danced a lick
Across the cell.
He grabbed his pants, a better stance, he jumped up high,
He clicked his heels.
He let go a laugh, he let go a laugh,
Shook back his clothes all around.
Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles,
Dance!
He danced for those at minstrel shows and county fairs
Throughout the South.
He spoke with tears of fifteen years how his dog and him
Had traveled about.
His dog up and died, he up and died,
After 20 years he still grieves.
Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles,
Dance!
He said "I dance now at ev'ry chance in honky tonks
For drinks and tips.
But most of the time I spend behind these county bars
'Cause 'I drinks a bit."
He shook his head, and as he shook his head I heard someone ask "Please,
Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles,
Dance!"

What A Wonderful World
by Louis Armstrong
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"
I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Oh yeah

No funeral, per se. I had wanted to be cremated and scattered over the Rocky Mts. from a hot air balloon. I once lived in Aspen Colorado, and I went ballooning often. I highly recommend it.
However, I hear that it's illegal to scatter ashes now. So if that couldn't be accomplished with stealth and under cover of darkness, then the next best thing would be to have my urn tossed into an active volcano.
All the fundies are telling me that as an atheist I'm hellbound anyway, so I might as well get a heads up on it. Go out with style.
Whatever should happen with my ashes, I want my 2 favorite songs playing while it's happening.
No speakers, no fanfare. There's no point.

"Artist in the Ambulance" by Thrice
"Late night, big slide, heard the tires squeal, red light can't stop so I spin the wheel, my world goes black before I feel an angel lift be up, and I open my eyes into flurescent light. They flip the sirens, hit the lights, close the door, and I am gone"
I'm a paramedic, and I love this song! (of course it's the only pop song out there dedicated to medics, so I can't be fussy)

Well we got no choice
All the girls and boys
Makin all that noise
'Cause they found new toys
Well we can't salute ya
Can't find a flag
If that don't suit ya
That's a drag
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Well we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Out for summer
Out till fall
We might not go back at all
School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely

When my friends and family put my carcass in a cardboard box and bury me somewhere nice, I would like:
"Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" by Monty Python;
"Wherever I may Roam" by Metallica and
"Happy-Happy, Joy-Joy" by Ren & Stimpy.
Whatever else they wish to do with their time, I would leave it up to them, as long as they keep the occasion happy and upbeat!

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" at very small memorial service, as I want to be cremated. No guest speaker unless someone wants to say something. Just make it short and sweet and watch for me in your dreams.
