It could be hormones. Also you stated that you had been checked for cancer. Did you mean that you did a BSE (breast self exam) or were you clinically checked? Many factors can cause breast tenderness. Sports activities are a big cause. Also it could be muscular in nature and is just concentrated in the pectoral muscles underneath your breast tissue. In any case, I would see a healthcare professional just to be on the safe side. Many younger people are developing breast cancer even though there is no history of it in the family. This is something that should be taken very seriously, and if it is cancer, then the quicker its detected, the better. Please let me know how things turn out.

This is usually something that happens 1 to 2 weeks before onset of menstral cycle. Even in the absence of menstruation the tenderness can still occur when your normal time of menstruation would occur.

you might be just fine--tender breasts are often a premenstrual sign. However it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a checkup by a doctor especially if your symptoms persist.

you didn't say how old you were. any change in breasts should be checked out by your doctor. I suppose it is possible your period is coming and that's why they're tender. but, you should also find out why you have abnormal menstruation.

How old are you? You could just be going through puberty or just stressed out. Stress can cause it.
