My 2YO hit her top teeth on steps while playing and one of the front teeth slowly bled around the gums for a whole day. I think it may be loose. The gums in that area look swollen and a bit darker than the surrounding gums. I'd hate for her to loose a tooth at 2! What should I expect? Will it heal?

If it's lose it might tighten up again after the gums heal. She may have killed the nerve and will cause the tooth to turn black,or she may have just bruised it. My daughter did the same thing last year, and the blackness went away.good thing is,it's a baby tooth! don't let her chew anything hard with the front teeth until you get her to the dentist.

my son tripped and hit his front tooth when he was 4. It bled like crazy- and was a little loose. We went to the dentist and he said just leave it be. The tooth turned kind of gray about 3 weeks later. The roots had kind of died. It stayed that way for 2 years until the root completely died and we had to have it pulled out. Then he had a gap for a year and a half until his adult tooth came down.

My daughter fell and her front tooth was loose and of course I freaked but by the next day it had tightened back up. I think it usually will but it's always good to get it checked.

my daughter fell at 2 also and we went to the dentist the same day and they said that 4 teeth would have to be removed. they took them out a few days later. they said that it would not be good to keep her teeth in at all. they said that they will come back in at 5-7 years old. they put her to sleep when they pulled them.

if it falls out, put it in a glass of milk and take it to the ER. Milk preserves the roots on the tooth so it can be mounted back in. Call her dentist.
