Yes that is exactly what it means, however I don't know about being stupid. See whenyou die, you do not go straight to heaven. 1st thessalonians 4:16&17-why do we rise first, if we are already in heaven?

The flesh rots... The Soul sleeps, awaiting the call to rise. To The judgement of the lost. Or, The Judgement of the saved.

That's about it in a nutshell. The body is just like an old box or container that held the soul. There is no further use of it when the soul departs.

If someone is dead, it means that they are in hell, for those in heaven do not die, but have everlasting life in Jesus Christ. Therefore, the "dead's" reward was what they got on earth, which was whatever they wanted that they thought was better then God's plan.

Strange, considering one key factor of being Dead is that you cannot be stupid or unconscious...
Why? Because when your dead, your no longer alive. Its simple really people

IF they were not in Christ when they died, I guess they are, but they are conscious, they no exactly whats going on, and how they messed up BIG time..They go into TORMENT the second the spirit leaves the body.... OH,,, they know now. they didn't know anything when they were alive but they sure know plenty after they have died.

i think stupid and unconcious are bad words as they imply an impermanent state, but essentially yes
