In Florence you can buy hand made toilettries in the Santa Maria Novella area. You could also take some unique food items back as souvenirs. There are also many shops that sell good quality art prints.
In Rome, if you have a friend or family member who is religious you can buy beautiful rosary beads from the Vatican museums.
In Venice you can buy wonderful stationary items but beware they are quite expensive.

Florence is a good city to spend your holyday; see more with hotelbye . Florence's museums, palaces, and churches house some of the greatest artistic treasures in the world. The most popular and crucial museum in Florence are: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Bargello and the Accademia. Churches like: Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable art galleries. In Florence you may also start to see the huge and various art variety housed in the Pitti Palace. The Palazzo Pitti (The Pitti Palace) is just a large 15th century palace based on the calmer south bank of the Arno River. The palace was long time the house of Florence's rulers till 1919, when it absolutely was handed over to the Italian state, which altered the palace in to a museum complex. In spite of their metamorphosis, from royal home to a state-owned community making, the palace still maintains the air and atmosphere of an exclusive collection in a grand house.

In Rome, there were a lot of vendors selling small replicas of famous sites (Coliseum etc.). In Florence, the most unique souvenir was a postcard with pictures of different statues penis (in honor of Michelangelo's David) also there were a lot of Pinocchio's. In Venice, there was a lot of expensive glass and masks.
While in Rome, go to the Vatican and anything you buy in the Vatican store will be blessed by the Pope and you will get a book mark to that effect.

I've been to rome twice, and while i'm not much of a souvenir collector, we did bring home some original artwork of the beautiful buildings in rome. Not expensive, you'll find people all over selling original water colors. Come home, frame them and have them forever to remind you of the time you spent there, or just give them as gifts...Enjoy! Italy is amazing

rome -- art work from a street vendor or a scarf made by hand. IMO anything that is native to the country or hand crafted by someone in the country is priceless. what i get for myself is a picture frame. in rome i found one of blown glass that a gentleman was making in his shop. in poland i found one carved of native wood.

they have the giant wooden pinochio's, at the markets you can buy cheap leather, and Italy is also known for it's hand blown glass.. You will love it there, but if you are going in winter, be prepared for the cold..cuz it gets really cold and wet during the winter. I went in November one year, and I froze my *** off.
