i would really like to hear from any Muslim in the U.S. as to their opinion on what is going on in the middle east with regards to U.S. presence

I can speak on behalf of those I know, and won't sign on to Yahoo to answer your question. They disliked Saddam and never read anywhere in the Quran about crashing planes against towers, so they know that is not pure Islam
But they are very sad for the suffering of their sister Middle Eastern countries, especally those very impoverished like Afghanistan, and wish the situation was dealt with differently
