Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. It is during this month that Muslims observe the Fast of Ramadan. Lasting for the entire month, Muslims fast during the daylight hours and in the evening eat small meals and visit with friends and family. It is a time of worship and contemplation. A time to strengthen family and community ties.

Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic Lunar calendar. It is the month in which first contact was made with Muhammad on the Night of Power, through the Archangel Gabriel, while Muhammad was meditating in the cave of Hiraa on the Mountain of Light near Mecca.

Fasting is one of the 5 pillars of Islam, and Muslims fast during this holy month from dawn to sunset. If you live in parts of the world where sunsets/sunrises are too close/far apart, you can observe a fasting timetable instead of relying on the sun. Islam is flexible in many respects.

Fasting involves no drink or food, abstinence from sex during the day, self-control, no cursing, no killing of animals, express kindness to people and animals, and observing Islamic practices, including prayer and Qur'an reading.

its where 1 billion muslims make a fool out of themselves, by thinking that fasting will bring them to god closer, which is very funny indeed, because its illogical to think so, it only make you starve, they are nutters, do they think everyone else who nourishes there soul will not be able to help the needy and the poor? Muslims, think again! Especially young ones and fanatics who only read what Quran tells them, there is no common sense in there.

Why on earth has god made food available, because he made it so that people can eat and nourish themselves and their souls, dont eat excesively and dont under eat, simple and concentrate on whats truthful....not starve yourselves!

Fasting is ilogical, there is no merit in it. The fools only follow what is dictated to them.

A month of dehydration, blood sugar imbalance, and lowering of metabolism. Supposedly that helps you appreciate what you have and those that are less fortunate. I've been able to do the afore-mentioned while eating...guess some can't....
