Americans (U.S that is) have been, historically, ran out of every country on earth because of the prejudice, intolerance and hatred we faced. We welcome newcomers, legal ones of course, and share our wealth with the rest of the world. Our people have died on the worlds battlefields, fighting for people of different races, religions and even for those that one oppressed us. I would hope that instead of listening to the bigots of the world, like the ones promising to destroy us everyday, you would look into the hearts of your family, neighbors and fellow citizens on the street.

Americans are the most racist? You couldn't be more wrong,

In Europe Nazi groups bomb ethnic and minortiy areas.

In 1998, One Nation, an Australian nationalist party in Queensland won 25 percent of the votes with their main lines at fighting immigration by non-whites. This was made possible where unemployment was been high and where it was easy to convince the people that immigrants were taking their jobs, as it would serve to be a convenient excuse and avenue to vent frustration. In a speech the party leader said that Australia was “in danger of being swamped” by Asians and she also questioned the special welfare benefits for Australia’s Aborigines. The reaction to that meant the same party won only 6 percent of the votes two months later, in the State elections.

In Zimbabwe, there has been increasing racism against the white farmers, due to poverty and lack of land ownership by Africans.

South Africa until recently suffered from Apartheid, which legally segragated the African population from the Europeans.

In Indonesia there has been a lot of violence against the affluent Chinese population who have been blamed for economic problems that have plagued the country in recent years.

I don't even want to get into the Middle East.

Have you ever BEEN to another country? England has a good share of racists, a lot of them even think that Scots and Welsh are a different race! Mexicans can be pretty racist too, the fact that there are hardly any dark-skinned people on Mexican tv is proof of that.

we are living in a country called the "melting pot." im not discriminating against other countries but i discriminate against them coming here. you cant say that this country has been better off with a million different races. no matter what country you are in, different races cannot live together in the long run. one culture overruns the other.

Several of our assumptions are not correct. The major one being that America is more racist than the rest of the world. It isn't.

Another assumption that is often implied is that only whites are racist. That is absolutely false.

Americans, in general, are the kindess people in the world.

Thank you

Fear of difference.

However, if you are referring to illegal immigration, you are off base. Not wanting people to come to this country and stay illegally is not necessarily racist.

Again, go to Barnes and Noble and take $29.95 plus tax and buy yourself a really good dictionary.

Try to educate yourself as to the difference between racist and illegal.

A little effort on your part will go a long way.

You might as well ask why are so many French, English, German, Australian etc. people racist ... there are racists everywhere ... most people are not racists though, and certainly most people who are anti illegal immigration are not racists ...

Are you assuming that everyone against illegal immigration is racists?

How do you deal with the impact on schools?
